Authentic Salsa Verde

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Tomatillos, Husked
  • ½ cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 Serrano Chile Pepper or Jalapeno (Increase to 2 if you want it HOT!)
  • 2 cups Water

Spices:

  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 2 tbsp. Chopped Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 tbsp. Chopped Fresh Oregano
  • ½ tsp. Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Sea Salt (optional)

Preparation:

  • Chop onion till nearly minced.
  • Mince Serrano chili pepper.

Cooking:

  • Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tomatillos are soft (10 -15 min).
  • Transfer to VitaMix® and process till smooth.
